Residents have 26 weeks of elective time over three years: 4 in PGY-1, 8 in PGY-2 and 14 in PGY-3. Electives are chosen with faculty advisors and program leadership to fit each resident's interests and future practice. An elective can also complete a required clinical experience or add depth where a resident wants it.

Residents can pick from the program's established electives or design their own with faculty. PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents in good academic standing can also do away and international electives.
